ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS 2018-04-13T01:59:17+00:00

At Fillers & Frowns we understand the stress that unwanted wrinkles often cause, which is where we hope to come in to relieve you of that very worry. Our Anti-Wrinkle Injections (commonly referred to as Botox®), are a quick, safe and effective treatment, and will improve the appearance of undesirable lines and wrinkles, resulting in a younger, more radiant complexion.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections, or Botulinum Toxin Injections, to give them their scientific name, work by relaxing the muscles that create the creases, temporarily restricting their movement. It is this restriction that results in the reduction in appearance of the lines and wrinkles, creating a smoother, more youthful look. The results of Anti-Wrinkle Injections typically last for approximately 4 months, although this does differ person-to-person depending on how quickly the body metabolises the substance.

As a general rule, the faster your metabolism, the shorter the gap that you may require in between treatments, and conversely, the slower your metabolism, the longer the gap you may require in between treatments – it is very much unique to each individual.

You may have heard Botulinum Toxin Injections simply referred to as ‘Botox®’, but this is just a brand name for the product produced by the company Allergan. Here at Fillers & Frowns we use the award-winning ‘Bocouture’ product – this is made by Merz Pharmaceuticals, who are global leaders in the aesthetics field, and were founded way back in 1908. Referring to Anti-Wrinkle Injections as Botox® is therefore the same as calling any vacuum a ‘Hoover’ – you might not be using a ‘Hoover’ branded product every time you vacuum your living room, but you will achieve results that are just as good when using your ‘Dyson’ instead!

We are able to provide our Anti-Wrinkle Injections to treat the following areas:

The eyes are easily one of the most important features of the face. Unfortunately, years of laughing, smiling and squinting can take their toll in the form of creases that appear at the corner of the eyes. These are commonly referred to as ‘Crow’s Feet’, due to the way in which they radiate outwards, away from the eye itself.

Forehead lines are the horizontal creases that span the entire forehead. These lines are created by raising your eyebrows, which is frequently done throughout the day when speaking or making facial expressions. The injections work by relaxing the muscles involved in making these facial expressions, restricting their movement and leading to a more youthful appearance. Due to the heavy usage of the muscles involved, without treatment these creases can become permanent over time, and will be visible even when the face is at rest – our treatment can not only reduce the appearance of the lines that have already become permanent, but can prevent this from occurring, so it is never too early to start thinking about these injections. The forehead can be treated alone in some people, but is commonly treated alongside frown lines in order to prevent imbalance of the muscle groups.

Commonly referred to as ‘11 lines’, Frown Lines are the vertical creases in between the eyebrows that are created when you frown. When we are young these lines are only visible when you are actively frowning, with the lines disappearing when the facial muscles are relaxed. However, as we begin to age, if left untreated these lines can become permanent, and so Anti-Wrinkle Injections can be used to prevent this process from occurring, as well as to ease the appearance of existing, permanent creases. The frown can be treated alone, but is commonly treated alongside forehead lines in order to prevent imbalance of the muscle groups.

Bunny lines are the horizontal, slightly upswept wrinkles that form by the side of the top of the nose. These lines appear when you smile or crinkle your nose. Anti-Wrinkle Injections to this area relaxes the muscles involved in making these creases, and hence prevents them form appearing when you perform these facial expressions.
