Chemical Peels are products used to improve the condition and texture of the skin. They achieve this by removing the outer epidermal layers of the skin, resulting in a rejuvenated and refreshed complexion. Various chemicals can be used to achieve this resurfacing of the skin, including glycolic acid, mandelic acid, salicylic acid, trichloracetic acid (commonly known as TCA peels) etc.
Here at Fillers & Frowns we mainly use glycolic acid for our chemical peels, with this being a gold-standard product in the industry, with proven efficacy for various skin types. However, we also offer add-ons to our glycolic acid peels: you can choose to add on a clarifying peel (good for spot prone skin) or a brightening peel (good for sun-damaged skin) in the same appointment for a nominal fee, to enhance the effects of the glycolic acid.
Our Chemical Peels can be used to treat a variety of common skin complaints, including:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Dry, flaky skin
Prior to having your chemical peel treatment with us, we will conduct a thorough facial skin assessment, in order to decide what strength of peel will yield the best results for you.
Here at Fillers & Frowns, because our treatments are carried out by our fully qualified doctor, we are able to administer stronger peel strengths that those on offer by beauty therapists, yielding better results. Our peels start at 20%, and go up all the way to 70%, resulting in a much stronger treatment.
As with any skin care treatment, dramatic results will not be achieved overnight, and so we recommend that for optimal effects, you book in for multiple peels, spaced at regular intervals.
We offer budget-friendly courses of 3 or 6 peels to help you achieve this, along with our range of tailored, at-home skin care products that are designed to complement peels (please see our Skincare page to find out more about this).
If you do just want to book in for a single peel, perhaps if you have a specific event coming up that you want to look refreshed for, this is definitely an option, but please allow time before any special occasions for the skin to recover (we recommend at least 2 weeks).
We use the NeoStrata® brand of chemical peels, which compliment our range of skincare products.
